Desktop Software Licence

Effective 4 November 2026 · Last updated 4 November 2026. Vidchestra is operated by Boostlete LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.

This licence covers the Vidchestra desktop application and its updates (the “Software”). It forms part of the Terms of Service. The Software is licensed, not sold, by Boostlete LLC.

What you may do

While your account is in good standing you may install and use the Software for your own personal or business media production, including commercial work for your clients. Paid features can be activated on as many computers as your plan allows (currently Free 1, Creator 2, Pro 3; your activated computers are listed in Account → Computers). You may also use the Software signed out within the Free plan's limits.

What you may not do

  • Copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the Software, except as allowed for its open-source components.
  • Bypass, modify, forge or share licences, or circumvent plan limits or the computer binding.
  • Reverse engineer the Software except to the extent the law permits despite this restriction. This restriction does not apply to the bundled FFmpeg programs, which you may modify, replace and reverse engineer as the GNU LGPL allows.
  • Use the Software to break the law or the Acceptable Use Policy.

Licences, offline use and computers

Paid features are unlocked by a digitally signed licence issued to your account for one activated computer. The licence is bound to that computer's activation (device id) and to a one-way hash of its Windows installation id, so it only works on the computer it was issued to; copying the app's data to another computer does not transfer it — sign in on that computer instead. Each licence is valid for 21 days from when it was issued. While the computer is online the app refreshes it automatically (at start-up and about every 12 hours), so changes to your plan reach the app. Offline, paid features keep working until the licence expires. If the licence expires, cannot be verified, or the computer is removed in Account → Computers, the app keeps working with the Free plan's features until you sign in or reconnect.

Updates

The app tells you when a new version is available. Updates are covered by this licence.

Open-source components

The Software includes FFmpeg and FFprobe, shipped as separate programs under the GNU LGPL version 3 or later, and other components under their own licences. Nothing in this licence limits your rights under those licences. See Third-Party Notices.

Ownership

Boostlete LLC and its licensors own the Software and the Vidchestra name and logos. You own your inputs and outputs.

End of the licence

The paid licence ends when your subscription ends or if you materially breach these terms; the app then uses the Free plan from its next licence refresh, or at the latest when the current licence expires. You may uninstall at any time. Your projects, outputs and other files stay on your computer and remain yours.

Warranty and liability

The disclaimers and limitation of liability in the Terms of Service apply to the Software.
